The Bonnet Carre
Spillway
Type of Riding Place: Trails
Location (closest city): Norco, LA USA
Details: 97,000 acres of sandy, muddy, swampy terrain. Open
year round
to all ORV's. Area includes dirt roads, trails thru wooded
areas, and mud bogs for the 4WD trucks. Also, there is an
area to launch boats and to fish.
How to get there: From the east: Exit I-10 at the I-310
split in Kenner, LA.
Head south on I-310 to Hwy 61. Exit right on Hwy 61 and go
app. 5 miles to the town of Norco. The spillway intersects
Hwy 61 just west of the town. Enter the spillway on the south
side of Hwy 61. Parking is available right after you enter.
Coming from the west: Exit I-10 at the town of Laplace and
head south on Hwy 51 for 2 miles. Turn left at the intersection
of Hwy 51 and Hwy 61 and go 5 miles to the spillway. Cross
over the spillway and enter on the south side as mentioned
above.

This is a good track to build up your stamina and
conditioning for the northern tracks. If you can ride this track
for 30 minutes all out, you can compete on any track. Track has 6
tabletops, 3 set up jumps, 2 sets of whoops, 3 sets of doubles, a
triple, and lots of burms and other fun jumps.

Details: there is 19 miles of mud!! There is a organized
ride in July that supports {The Wish I could foundation} the
trials are open year round and the best times to go is spring
through fall. The only restrictions is its closed during hunting
season. The area is Hebert, Louisiana.
How to get there: Out of Monroe go south on 165s,18 miles
to Riverton, left on Riverton hwy. take right on Hebert hwy.

LA Dunes
Type of Riding Place: Dunes
Location (closest city): Alexandria, LA USA
Details: 300 acres of big sand dunes, next to Camp
Claiborne.
No Restrictions. $15.00 all day , $10 dollars each additional day.
Camp sites available. camper hookups. 30 acre lake for swimming,
jet skis, etc.. during the summer.
$10.00 for a flag if you don't have one. Drag races on Sundays for
competition. All year round. Winter hours- opens 11:00 A.M.
Fridays thru sundown Sunday.
Soon to come Paint ball/Four wheeler wars.
How to get there: From Interstate 10 North on Highway 165 (in between
Lake Charles and Lafayette)
approx. 60 miles (pass through Oakdale, Glenmora, McNary)
about 2 miles or so past McNary on right just past a bridge. Big

If you get to Forrest Hill you have gone too far.
Camp Claiborne

Location (closest city): Forest Hills, LA USA

spot. There are (3)
2-way "marked" loop trails, maintained by U.S. Forestry
Service
several off-road clubs. The different trail names are the
"Woodworth Loop", "Boy Scout Loop" and the
"North Loop".
the are 29, 30 and 31 miles long, respectively. Several
events are held there, including "Louisiana Dirt Days",
several SERA events and hare scrambles and poker runs.
How to get there: Go down I 12 TO Forest Hill, exit, take a
right, go to rail road track and take a left. Go down about 12
miles it is on the left.
